In Loving Memory of Brit
2007 - 2016
Brit, a full-blooded German Shepherd imported from Slovakia, joined the Preble County Sheriff’s Office in 2008, specially trained for patrol, protection, narcotics detection, and tracking. Captain Matt Lunsford facilitated Brit's certification through the OPOTC and the NAPWDA. Over the course of his illustrious career, Brit logged over 850 deployments, contributing to over 500 apprehensions and remarkable drug seizures totaling $3 million in marijuana, $75,000 in methamphetamine, and $155,000 in heroin.
Brit collaborated with various law enforcement agencies and played a pivotal role in the Southwest Regional Training Group, participating in joint training sessions with multiple departments. Sadly, while still in active service, Brit passed away on December 14, 2016, after surgery, leaving a void within the law enforcement circles he diligently served. Brit's dedication, drive to work, and numerous successful deployments stand as a lasting testament to his impactful contributions in the relentless fight against crime.

Forever Loved. Forever Missed.
